See You Soon...

You may have noticed I've been M.I.A of late. I'm in the midst of moving house, in order to build a brand spanking new one (!!!!) so unfortunately, my little blog has been put on the back burner. As much as I adore writing this blog, I can't find the time to juggle a full time job, writing and preparing content and have an actual life. Something has to give and I'm afraid for the time being it's Petite Denise. I really, really hope that down the road, when I get set up in our newly built house, I will delve into blogging again, but who knows? Blogging has already changed so much in the short time I've been involved, I can't begin to imagine how it will be in a year or so.

I'd like to thank every single person who has read and commented on my posts, you have no idea how happy writing this blog has made me, especially reading your lovely comments. Hopefully I'll be back soon and in the meantime, I'll still be tweeting @petite_denise and instagramming @petite_denise so I do hope you'll follow me there to see what I'm up to.

Lots of Love and thanks again,

xxxxx

Yeessss the Easter weekend is upon us! Although I'm working today, I'm really looking forward to having the next three days off. They will be spent catching up with friends and family, and of course eating chocolate! My Easter egg has been sitting on the table since last weekend and it's taken all my will power not to crack it open during the week!

I took these photos a few weeks ago but never got round to posting them. I really need to put the black away for Spring. Although saying that, I bought a gorgeous black maxi skirt last week. It's just so versatile.

What are your plans for the Easter weekend?

Kinvara Skincare // Cleansing Oil & Rosehip Day Cream

I'm ashamed to admit at 28, that until two months ago, I didn't have proper skincare routine. I'd splash some water on my face, exfoliate once a week, dab on a bit of cheap moisturiser and that would be it! Recently however, my skin was really starting to get me down. It was acting like typical combination skin; scaly and dry around my nose and cheeks, inflamed pores and an oily spot-fest on my chin and jawline. Make Up was making it look ten times worse and it was really knocking my confidence so I thought enough is enough!

I did a bit of research online and decided to go for an oil cleanser. I was drawn to a local brand I had seen popping up on a few blogs, Kinvara Skincare. All the reviews I had read were very positive and I thought at €20, what would I have to lose? Well let me tell you, it's the best 20 quid I've spent!

Kinvara Absolute Cleansing Oil
Made from certified organic ingredients, Kinvara Absolute Cleansing Oil has a light, refreshing, citrus scent. In the morning to wake myself up any traces of face serums used the night before, I warm one pump of oil between my hands and massage into my damp face then rinse off with a warm washcloth.
In the evening, I spend a bit longer cleansing. After removing my make up with a micellar water, I warm 1-2 pumps between my hands and massage into my face as in the morning. For a deeper cleanse, I hold a warm washcloth over my face for a minute, to open my pores and melt any last traces of make up, then wipe off.

The Absolute Cleansing Oil removes all make up and residues from my face without leaving it feeling dry or tight. After 2 months of use, my skin has become so much clearer and softer. The dryness around my nose and cheeks has disappeared completely and the pores in that area have also reduced dramatically. I've also noticed the blackheads on my nose and chin are practically non existent and these areas don't get anywhere near as oily during the day as they used to. I still get some spots around my chin and jawline, but these seem to be hormonal and I've added other products to my routine to try and tackle these.

Kinvara Rosehip Day Cream
I also picked up the moisturiser from this range as I'm a sucker for anything that has rose hip in it when it comes to skincare. This anti ageing moisturiser has quite a strong scent of lavender and lemon, which I love. I apply this after using the cleansing oil morning and night. Although it seems quite thick in the jar, it glides on to the skin and soaks in straight away to a matte finish, with no residue. It provides the perfect base for primer and foundation and leaves my skin felling soft and plump.

Both the Cleansing Oil and Rose Hip Day Cream have now become a essential part of my daily cleansing routine, which I actually look forward to. They have both transformed my skin and I can't recommend these products enough! I have also started using their Rose Hip Face Serum in the last two weeks which I already love, and will write a full review on after a few more weeks of use, in a full skincare routine post. You can buy Kinvara Skincare products direct from their website, or from Evergreen health food stores.

Have you tried any Kinvara Skincare products?

Primark Picks SS14...

All images from look.co.uk

My Little Pony Bomber // Palm Tree Tee // Crochet Crop Top // Floral Denim Shirt //
Pink Biker Jacket // PU Mini Skirt // Wrap Skirt // Coral Skinny Jeans //
Perspex Clutch // Mary Jane Shoes // Flower Necklace // Gold Plait Necklace //

Recently I've been trying to curb my spending, so I've been avoiding Penneys (Primark) because I end up spending so much in there, every visit, without fail! However I couldn't resist a peek of their new items for Spring/Summer when I saw them pop up on the Look website. Oh how I wish I didn't. As usual, I want everything! I have managed to whittle it down to my favourite picks though, otherwise we'd be here all day.

My first purchase will definitely be these cute patent Mary Janes. They also come in black or maroon, but this nude colour will be perfect for Spring. They remind me of ones I used to wear when I was younger. The pastel statement necklace is also firmly on my list, I'm just really hoping it comes to my local Penneys soon.

I'm very tempted by this baby pink biker jacket, but I don't know if I'd really get the wear out of it as I live in my black one. Maybe it's time for a change? As for the My Little Pony bomber jacket...too cute! I also adore the palm tree print scuba top (there's a matching skirt FYI) and the crochet crop top would look perfect with denim cut offs. Oh I just want it to be Summer now!

I really think Penneys have upped their Spring/Summer game this year.
What catches your eye?
